About Us
A Vital Link Between BC’s Coastal Communities
Based in Port Hardy, we’re uniquely positioned to service remote coastal communities.
We offer bi-weekly scheduled transportation via the Central Coaster (the only self-propelled, double hull, power tanker on the West Coast) and bookable transport via our fleet of tugs and barges. We also provide marine and land construction and project support, and we’re here to help in the event of emergencies.
While marine transport and construction are our primary services, we’re so much more than a shipping company. We’re known for our quality service, our deep understanding of coastal communities and their needs, and our unmatched commitment to ensuring coastal businesses and residents thrive.
We love what we do and we’re committed to doing it with expertise and with heart. We’re dependable, innovative and solutions-oriented. Whatever you need, we’ll make it happen.

Safety is Our Priority
Keeping our communities safe, secure and thriving is at the heart of everything we do.
The Central Coaster is the only Canadian registered oil tanker working along our coast. This means we’re required to develop and follow an approved and annually audited Safety Management System. We’re audited annually by the Class Society Bureau Veritas on behalf of Transport Canada, which gives us the tools to manage and strictly adhere to our safety code to ensure the safe and legal delivery of petroleum products within BC coastal waters.
Our CCMS Health, Safety and Environment Statement is posted in all company service locations as a reminder to all staff of the importance of health, safety and the environment within both our workspaces and personal environments.
